That's why I'm not sure Ohio State will make it playoff... if Fields tested positive... out 3 games?

Guessing they are assuming he would miss 2 games automatically due to quarantine and the 3rd would be because of the time he comes out of quarantine would be midweek of the 3rd game and thus miss prep time. Just my best guess.

It's a B1G rule. If a player tests positive it's 21 days at a minimum. Roster size plays a big part here with a 5% max or 7.5% including all the staff. That's five players or seven to eight with staff included. (7.5% really seems arbitrary considering the B1G limits rosters to 100.)

Serious for them because:

(!)[QB] 10/04/2020 - Jack Coan is out indefinitely ( Foot )

The (!) in the Injury Report is there for a reason. And you don't see it very often.

Wisconsin's 3rd string QB, Chase Wolf, also tests positive for COVID. They are down to their 4th string guy now this week, and for the next 21 days.

OUCH!!! Wisky no goes from a media darling to a potential 1-3 start now with a trip to Nebraska this Saturday, a home date with Purdue, and then a trip to Michigan.

Couple of quotes from a Big Ten board:

"Redshirt junior Danny Vanden Boom likely would be the next quarterback in line if both Mertz and Wolf are out. After Nebraska, Wisconsin hosts Purdue before visiting No. 13 Michigan. Vanden Boom appeared in three games in 2018, completing the only pass he attempted for a 3-yard touchdown."

"Might not be a game, however. There are 9 positives (for now) and the threshold the B1G put in place is <5%. 9 out of 115 would be higher than 5%, assuming they are all confirmed positive. And if that were the case, Wisconsin would not play a game for 3 weeks."
