Alabama running back Trey Sanders was involved in a car accident on Friday, but the redshirt freshman didn’t suffer any significant injuries, BamaOnLine has learned. Sanders was home in Port Saint Joe, Fla., as the Crimson Tide has the weekend off during its bye week.

Head coach Nick Saban released the following statement Friday afternoon:

“Trey Sanders was involved in a car accident this morning and is in stable condition after sustaining non-life threating injuries. We are in direct contact with his family and the physicians that are treating him as we continue to gather more information.”

Hope he is ok. He's finally seeing the field and showing a nice burst of speed. After missing last year, hope the guy can get back and ready by next weekend.

Glad he wasn’t riding a dirt bike. Hope he recovers quickly.

Hearing the same, he'll miss the rest of the year. Just one report attached below.

Hate to hear and see this. He was really starting to gain confidence. He is a very fluid/smooth runner.

Heal up young man.

My gosh. I hate that for him. Hopefully it's something that he can come back 100% from and not to the extent of a knee injury that could or could not get him back to his current game speed.

They let him go home during covid-19? Odd decision.
