Gotta work on the shoe game, coach (says the guy that wore sandals to work last night.)

The interview Oats did with Wimp was amazing to listen to. Oats doesn't have a drill that somebody doesn't win or lose. Loser's then have to do gasers for the privilege. He spends a good amount of practice time teaching his team to be competitive and he said he's trying to bring guys in that are tough-minded. I love that he recognizes what makes teams great and he sounds like he knows why guys were quitting last season. The consensus from some of our better players of yesteryear, like Jim Farmer, said Oats practices were as hard as anything he has seen. Even Wimp sounds impressed with the new guy and how often does that happen?

Wimp sounded even giddy at one point in the interview

This one?

Coach Oats said that he would go to a lot of college practices when he was a high school coach and you can immediately see whether those players were practicing hard. Said if our guys don't play hard it doesn't matter what scheme you run out there. Amen, bro. Yeah, he knows what ails us.
