Last season doesn't matter here.

More minutes, more shots.

The writing was on the wall for everyone to read. What would have happened to his playing time this upcoming season? His minutes were dropping for guys like JQ, Gary, and Burnett. Then there's guys like JD coming in and what we'll see from Gurley.

I believe we'll see him go undrafted and end up overseas.
I thought they were doing a development league with pay for HSers that didnt want college and college guysthat go undrafted?
Maybe dreamed it...

The G-league announced they were raising the salaries for the players two or three years ago bumping the amount they made to 35K (7K per month) over their five month long season.

The majority of the teams in the Euro-league's pay a minimum of 60K per season. Spain, Russia, and a few others have players making millions per season. This isn't always the case but the majority of the time there's more money to be made overseas for a players just entering professional play.

Saban has the magic dust that helps these kids understand team first gets you your end goal of the NFL money. As Oats keeps recruiting the way he is, he will need do the same things.

To bad because I think Shackelford would have done well this next year. Oh and if he really did come back and put team first, I think his minutes would follow as would his NBA draft potential.

Perhaps Nate would be best served by the player and his father taking what they believe they deserve to one of those 3.
I am a big fan of Shackleford thought he did a great job for Bama but the straddling the fence I am not a fan of. Get on board or move on young man. This I am going to test the waters and have a safety net back at Bama is BS and Oats should call him on it.

Saw this on the rant......

In my opinion, both sides need to move on. He’s not going to get what he wants here. It could turn very toxic and get distracting.

Is it really all about playing time? Get on the court and produce and the playing time would take care of itself smh. If he gets a chance at the NBA he will have to explain his side of the story to the NBA brass. Could it cost him?

Because it is to simplistic to be just that. I am baffled also but apparently for a different reason. Seems like there has to be more to it than that because that is stupid.
It is that simple. Not only does his dad feel he should get more shots and more minutes he wants him to do it at a position he doesn't fit within the scheme. Parents, as well as kids, don't make the smartest decisions especially when it comes to a dad living vicariously through his son's success.

Well ok then but I stand by that is stupid :). Time for both to move on.

This weekend word leaks out he's down to two: OU and TTU.

*Chris Beard appears to be convinced he'll make it or break it with the portal. Is there a basketball team who has had more enter the portal and raid (no pun intended) the portal?

@mando what gets me here is I'm of the understanding the schools he's looking to transfer to have also told him they don't have him slated as a point guard.

Even more head scratching info... Best of luck to him. I think he would have been an even more valuable asset for Bama this year and it would have been best for him as well.

Bama News

With just a few weeks remaining until the 2021 NBA draft, mock drafts are heating up and big boards are starting to hold put, as teams and front offices are getting a firmer grasp on who they plan on targeting out of this talented draft class.

One name that has seemingly quickly shot up mock drafts and big board is Alabama guard Josh Primo.

When Primo first announced he was entering the draft alongside Jaden Shackelford and various others who no longer had any eligibility remaining, most Alabama fans assumed he would be returning.

While he initially declared for the draft without hiring an agent, in order to keep the option of returning, he recently hired an agent and announced he will be keeping his name in the NBA draft.

Just a few months ago the move would have seemed a bit far fetched. However, now Primo is set to be a top-20 pick in the draft.

USA TODAY’s Bryan Kalbrosky shared his most recent NBA mock draft, which has Primo being selected at No. 18 to the Oklahoma City Thunder, a pick which was acquired from the Miami Heat.

“Some of the most common talking points about Joshua Primo are: he is the youngest player in this class, he is an excellent scorer who didn’t really get a chance to show what he could in college, he boasts maturity far beyond his years,” writes Kalbrosky. “That sounds an awful lot like Devin Booker coming out of Kentucky. He also shares an AAU coach with OKC’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, another star from the UPlay Canada pipeline.”
Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Primo through the draft experience, as well as his future NBA career.
