Central High School in Phenix City announced its new head football coach Tuesday evening.

Patrick Nix has been selected to take on the role. The announcement was made during a press conference at Central High’s athletic complex.

Figured some might find it interesting. Wonder what impact it will have on recruiting for Auburn to have Nix at Central.

Announcing him as a high school football coach? Sounds like he's got his roadmap in place to become the next coach at Auburn.

He is at a good school, Central is in the play-offs consistently and won it a couple years back, IIRC.

True, but the catch here is that was all under the coach that just retired and took over Loundes County in GA. This will really tell how good he can coach. He pretty much has all the players in the city (Russell County high gets those outside the city) so talent should stay consistent compared to places where there are lots of schools.
