Possibly, but canning international travel for the year ahead of flu season made as big of a difference.

Full article below, but Covid is not polio or smallpox. Like the flu, it's not going anywhere.

The difficulty of the news business is that you’re constantly trying to tell people their information is outmoded, which they resist since assimilating new information entails a cost. And yet here goes:

If you haven’t had Covid yet, you will. If you’ve had it once, you’ll have it again. If you’re vaccinated or were infected previously—which will one day be most people except the very young—your symptoms will likely be mild or nonexistent, but it’s not guaranteed. Words the CDC says about the flu it will say about Covid: “Vaccination is especially important for people 65 years and older because they are at high risk of developing serious complications from flu. Flu vaccines are updated each season as needed to keep up with changing viruses.”

So now my job is requiring masks, again. I'm really fucking tired of all this bullshit.

MASKS DO NOT WORK!!!!!

If they did, then anyone who wore a mask would never have gotten Covid. Yet they want to push and push and push for all this bullshit propaganda just so they can keep everyone under their total control. And most people (i.e., sheep) just eat it up and take everything some doctor says or some government person says as gospel and thinks if they don't do what they're told, they'll die a horrible, horrible death. People have gone from thinking for themselves to letting others telling them what to think, do, or say. And it's fucking disgusting what that has done to this once great country.

I get the sentiment, and I do agree with him. The dummycrats are using every bit of this pandemic as a power play. However, this repugnant is staging his own power play with which I wholeheartedly disagree. Withholding state money to Florida school districts that enforce mask mandates? Come on...Don't put kids in the line of fire.

*Edit: No, this is not a pro-mask argument. I'm vaccinated. I don't want to wear those stupid things any more.

I'm beginning to equate Covid news with pop-up ads.

I almost posted a thread the other day asking if you remembered the last pop-up ad you saw. It's to the point I just click "none of the above" on questions regardless of what the question happens to be—I really don't know what the question was.

I've reach the point of ignoring most of what I see reported. And, it's because of instances like the one embedded below.

The reports in Texas about kids hospitalized was truly a farce.

Don’t wear the stupid things then. Short of a positive pressure helmet with force filtering of air it is a waste. It is being used as a submission conditioning step. Symbolic muzzling of the people. Read what’s going on down under. Military in the streets to enforce lockdowns and forced door to door testing. Government ministers on TV telling people to stay away from each other, don’t talk to each other, snitch on rule breakers.

Just a few scientific facts.
Any particle mask WILL NOT stop a virus. The CDC has recently admitted that the c19 test is highly unreliable for
finding c19. The c19 virus HAS YET to be isolated. Is there really a c19 virus to isolate?
The test used is SO BOGUS for c19. It does however, detect corona virus such as the common cold, and reported as c19
so that the hospitals can pull in major $ for treating such patients.

So, if the c19 virus has not been isolated, not seen or detected under any microscope or test, how in the Hell can they make us
believe they can distinguish between c19 and the New delta variant?

I believe that most patients that have tested positive with the BOGUS c19 test and hospitalized, either have the common cold,
seasonal flu or pneumonia.
All people need to wake up and realize that they are pissing on our backs and telling us it's raining.

Interesting phrasing on the news this morning about the local school board implementing a mask mandate for the next 60 days in CCSD.

I paraphrase here: "wearing a mask is the next best thing to doing nothing." I know this has been related to something Teddy Roosevelt is credited with saying, "In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing."

The University of Alabama introduced a new vaccine incentive on Aug. 16, one week after doubling its Bama Cash incentive. Now, students who report their vaccination to the University will be entered in a raffle.
Raffle prizes include three all-access campus parking passes, 10 $1,000 on-campus housing scholarships, six pairs of away game football tickets and lunch with Myron Pope, VP for student life.

JMO….COVID vaccinations will become the new yearly flu shot…medical corporations can’t make the money from the flu vaccines like they use too…gotta have something to fill that void…got this from an RN…may have been full of shit or may not…but my JMO leans towards believing her. I’ve never had a flu shot…had the flu only a couple of times I can recall and COVID once…still here…ain’t bragging about it, just stating a fact. Both suck and both kill, also a fact.

I'm just interested to see if and for how long, school systems will be shut down. Talking to a couple of teachers in the north Alabama area, they all seem to think that virtual learning will be happening again.

An actual national lockdown is what a group of prominent American health professionals advocated in July, in an open letter, screaming for the government to “shut it down, start over, do it right.” However, in practice, what are the chances a national lockdown would succeed? It would not only require every governor to be 100% sold and on board with this, but to implement and enforce the policy as well, which I cannot even begin to imagine happening. We have come a long way since March 2020, for fuck sake. We don't need a blanket lockdown.
