I felt bad for him. I can't imagine what being a big time highly sought-after high school player must feel like during the recruiting process over the years, especially in todays social media frenzy era. Each year it seems to get at least twice as crazy with no end in stop. We are all to blame to some degree putting these kids on the pedestal like we do. But hey, that's where we and the sport has evolved to.
Don't get me wrong these kids have a ton of talent and deserve the attention but just thinking from a psychological POV I can see how it can feel like a huge burden to some. Others seem to handle it in a different way and it comes off as easy or even refreshing to them. I think he was just nervous and felt embarrassed or sad that he knew no matter what choice he was going to make, that it was going to make some people (fans and family) upset. You can't please everyone.
He was with us from the beginning and if giving his family the best chance for success then Alabama can certainly help him achieve those goals. More so than UGA or AU has been able to do in recent years. Roll Tide Reuben!
edit - just watched the video again and it was not as awkward as it seemed initially.

Glorious...
"He was a leader, patriotic to the core, devoted to his players, and inspired by a winning spirit that wouldn't quit. And that's how he made legends out of ordinary people. He was a true American hero, and he was Alabama's own."
-President Ronald Reagan speaking about Coach Bryant in 1984.

I'm excited, but show me the LOI Fax.
He seemed really embarrassed and shy. I will believe it when the LOI is in the school's hands
"My roots are deep in Alabama's sod, I'm Southern by the Grace of God, 'Bear' Bryant taught me the meaning of pride, My pledge of allegiance is ROLL TIDE"
Andrew Bone had tweeted last night that Reuben had called and spoken with Bo Scarbrough BAMA 2014 commit, to tell him that he was going to sign with BAMA. The call was to have taken place at 1:30 Monday morning. I'm still skeptical bacause these kids can change in an instant and with him being that close to the Barn campus, who isn't to say that they come by and "bump" into him. He did seem nervous as hell and I think it was sincere. I hope to see his LOI come across the board first thing tomorrow morning!! He needs BAMA more than BAMA needs him. The structure that CNS and CKS provide will be what makes this kid soar to the next level.

WOW what a strange commitment video. Weird. I don't think this is over by any means. If he flips it wouldn't surprise me in the least and even if he does flip I really wish the kid well. As has been stated, he just seems so confused and unsure. Maybe once this is all over he'll be able to settle down and relax and focuse on moving forward.
Cheers SDMF !
If Trooper and money never entered the picture...he would of been all Bama. Everything changed though and like I previously thought before he said it, he's made a business decision.
He could end up being a force for sure.
Read on twitter how some Barner had called his daughter who is a senior at Auburn High to "check in" on Reuben. Seems that the Barners are throwing the rumor out that Reuben has a new car. He said that his daughter told him that Reuben wasn't at school. I'm thinking, could you even blame the kid?

I think his childlike naivete makes him that much more endearing. He's bashful. He does want to please. My take on him is that he's genuine. I'm a Reuben Foster fan.
