The following graph clearly shows the top killers in America. Alcohol kills 10 time the number of people as do firearms. Medical errors approach 20 times as many. Non firearm homicides (knives, hammers, clubs) kill more than firearms. Where is the indignant outrage and screams to outlaw booze, hammers, knives, clubs, etc.? You won't hear any because there is an agenda. Get the guns. The second amendment isn't about sporting use of firearms. It is about keeping the government in check. That was the founders intent and a cursory examination of writings on the subject from the era will show it.
Should anyone tell you that it isn't about taking your guns they are either ignorant or a liar. The government doesn't give a shit about saving lives, it is about control. Save lives by outlawing tobacco. Save lives by outlawing alcohol......how did that work last time? The criminals really obeyed that one didn't they?

Why has the Social Security Administration, Dept. Homeland Security, TSA all purchased over 1.3 billion rounds of hollow point ammo in the past year? This ammo is outlawed in warfare, it is meant to be used domestically. There is an agenda. All this from an administration that gave us operation Fast & Furious. You do remember the illegal gun running scheme conducted by Obama's bunch that got firearms into Mexican drug cartels hands? One of our own border agents was killed by one of these guns.

Just FYI, regarding the Mao quote. The actual quotation is:

I also think the big difference with drug/tobacco/alcohol abuse is that it is chosen. Firearm homicide is not. Nobody chooses to be shot to death, but people knowingly choose to consume drugs that can kill them. Despite this, we pump loads of money into no smoking ads, no smoking policies, etc etc. Just food for thought.

On the lighter side of things, 'unintentional injuries' can be bizarre. I remember reading somewhere that dozens of folks die falling into toilets. I'm sure it's a bad way to go, but it must be embarrassing/tragically hilarious to have to tell people "my husband died falling onto a toilet", or whatever
