Bateman chooses Alabama over Auburn, LSU, Washington, Florida and many more.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- In a statement released this morning to Alabama media members, four-star quarterback Cooper Bateman announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Bateman (6-foot-3, 190 pounds) is considered one of the best pro-style quarterbacks in the country for the class of 2013. Rivals ranks him as the nation's No. 6 quarterback prospect. 247Sports ranks him fourth.

Alabama will host South Alabama, Georgia Tech and Tennessee-Martin

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama softball team earned the No. 2 national seed for the second straight season and the top seed in the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional, it was announced Sunday night. The Crimson Tide was awarded its berth into the NCAA tournament as the field of 64 was announced on the ESPNU selection show.

The Crimson Tide (50-7) will open regional play Friday, May 18, at Rhoads Stadium against Tennessee-Martin (39-20) starting at 6 p.m. The opening game of the regional gets underway at 3:30 p.m., and will feature South Alabama (39-15) and Georgia Tech (36-21).

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The top seeded Alabama softball team used a Courtney Conley home run and some key defensive stops to shut out Georgia, 1-0, to advance to the Southeastern Conference Tournament Championship game. Alabama will play the third seeded Florida Gators at noon on Saturday.

In an appearance on Tim Brando's nationally syndicated radio show on Thursday, Alabama head coach Nick Saban made it emphatically clear what he thinks of the proposed college football playoff model that would exclude any teams that don't win their conference championship.

Alabama clinches a share of the Southeastern Conference title

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama softball team clinched at least a share of its third straight Southeastern Conference title as the Crimson Tide run-ruled Florida, 9-1, Saturday afternoon in front of 3,640 fans at Rhoads Stadium.

With the win, Alabama improved to 46-6 overall and 22-5 in the SEC, while Florida dropped to 44-9 overall and 21-6 in the SEC. A win by the Tide tomorrow and it seals sole possession of the SEC regular season title.

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Alabama football coach Nick Saban knows a few things about winning national championships. He's won three, including two at Alabama in the past three seasons.

On Saturday night, he was the first speaker at the Alabama gymnastics team's celebration in Coleman Coliseum.

A crowd of more than 2,000 people gathered to applaud a team that has won two consecutive national championships and six overall.
